How Your VA Can Help You Get the Most Out of Your Membership

This post is part of a series in which we’ll explore a different outsourcing topic and offer our advice on what we’ve found works best.

Here at YEC, we work with over a dozen virtual assistants to support our team. Because we believe so strongly in the power of outsourcing, we've worked with top VA service providers including Zirtual, UAssistMe, and Ruby Receptionists to provide members with generous discounts. To learn more about these benefits, visit the marketplace on your member dashboard. Or, email your member concierge directly for support. [ Note: This benefit is for YEC members only. Not only is your VA able to help you out with pressing business tasks -- they can also ensure you get the most out of your YEC membership. Whether they’re handling some of the more arduous tasks (like updating account information) or are reaching out to our member concierge team to facilitate member introductions, here are 7 things your VA can do to maximize your YEC membership and all of the incredible benefits we offer.

  1.     Notify you when new Q&A opportunities are available.

As you may be aware, YEC shares a series of business questions with our members and invites you to provide short, well-written answers based on your industry expertise. We then edit and share these answers with select media partners from around the web, who then select their top answers and turn them into an article for their readers. This is a no-brainer opportunity -- and a simple way to get regular media mentions that position you as a thought leader in your industry.

New Q&As are published to your dashboard on the first Wednesday of every month, making it a predictable process that your VA can alert you to on an ongoing basis. Depending on their knowledge of your skill set, you could take this a step further by having them log in, select the questions that are most tailored to your area of expertise, and post them in whichever communication tool you use for you to review and answer.

  1.     Plan your travel.

Like we posted about before, your VA can take the hassle out of the entire travel planning process. Have them head over to travel.yec.co to book flights and hotel accommodations. Our member concierge team receives an email with every itinerary booked by a member, which enables them to look for other members you should meet in the area, events that might be occurring, and other opportunities to take advantage of when you’re traveling to a different city.

  1.     Have them keep your member profile up to date.

It is critical that you keep your member profile up to date -- not only does it feed into media opportunities (your bio next to your article, for instance), but it is also your virtual representation of how you’re presenting yourself to other members. To make sure that you don’t miss out on a potential future business or networking opportunity, task your VA with regularly updating your profile as needed. Whether you switched companies or got new headshots taken, you want to make sure all of the right information is in your profile when other members search for you.

  1.     RSVP for events.

When you see an upcoming member event you want to attend, have your VA add it to your calendar and RSVP on your behalf. Also make sure to keep your VA abreast of conferences you’re planning to attend, and have them email concierge@yec.co to see if the team will be hosting any events in conjunction with the conference.

When our team plans out our calendar events, the first thing we look at is what conferences a lot of our members plan to attend. If you’re attending a conference, we want to know about it as it gives us good feedback about where we could potentially invest in putting together future programming. Train your VA to email concierge@yec.co whenever they book conference tickets so we have a better of understanding of where we need to be in the future, and also so we can connect you to other members who we know will be attending the same conference as you.

  1.     Locate deals in YEC’s business services marketplace.

To ensure you are taking maximum advantage of our member marketplace offerings, always have your VA log in to search for deals before making a full-price purchase elsewhere. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, make sure to have your VA email our concierge team -- after all, we just may have a partnership for a specific product or service that is not currently listed in the marketplace.

  1. Make sure your account information is updated.

If your credit card expires or you get a new card, have your VA update your information accordingly so you can keep your membership in good standing -- this will also alleviate the issue of wasting your time making these updates yourself. Rest assured that all financial information is safely stored in our secure databases.

  1. Share and promote your exciting accomplishments and achievements.

Was your company recently acquired, or did you announce a new business partnership? We’re always featuring members on our blog, and there are a variety of ways we can help you share your most important news. Leverage your VA to make sure we’re kept in the loop and can share them accordingly across our channels. If you’re writing content elsewhere, we’d also love to share what you’re writing through our weekly social media roundup blog posts; simply email your member concierge team about what you want to share.

Our team of VAs has a close connection with our concierge team and can ask us questions on demand to make sure you’re getting the most out of your membership and the VA experience in general. If there’s anything you’re ever unsure of -- member benefits or otherwise -- always have your VA talk to us so we can make your YEC experience as memorable as possible.
