Last Saturday, a small group of YEC members met at GANT Lounge to enjoy the NYC Founders Dinner and a private showcase of GANT's sportswear collection. The event combined fashion, food and good company in a unique ambiance.
One of the highlights for attendees was the intimate shopping experience. After admiring the sportswear collection, members were treated to a special dining atmosphere as they sat among the clothing, shoes and accessories to enjoy a delicious meal.
GANT President Justin Cupps and YEC Founder and CEO Scott Gerber were in attendance. Scott addressed the table as guests were seated and welcomed them to the event. He shared the inspiration behind creating YEC with Co-Founder Ryan Paugh, and explained why events like this are so important. Scott is passionate about building an easier world for entrepreneurs like himself, and having a strong community provides opportunities for both the members and the community as a whole to grow.
Justin Cupps followed and offered a brief history of GANT. It is the first classic sportswear brand dating back to 1949, despite claims of competition within the fashion industry. GANT is looking to disrupt the shopping experience and retail world by providing a more intimate and tailored setting, with a stylist designated just for the customer, in their new and thoughtfully-designed lounge concept space.
Scott then asked members to introduce themselves to the table, stating their names, companies and positions, and to answer two important questions: What is a current challenge for you or your business, and what is something you can offer others at the table? Significant others were also welcome at this event, so they were able to offer different perspectives to the founders.
Guests then savored a family-style dinner catered by Bonbite, which included squash chicken rolade, poached prawns with a suggested wine pairing of William Hill North Coast Sauvignon Blanc, smashed purple potato and seared zucchini with a suggested pairing of William Hill North Coast Pinot Noir, as well as a gem lettuce salad with William Hill Napa Chardonnay to start and a berry filled pavlova for dessert. The wine pairings done by William Hill Estate Winery were acclaimed throughout the meal.
Founders in attendance included Stephen Bailey of ExecOnline, Mamie Kanfer Stewart of Meeteor, Patrick Ambron of BrandYourself.com, Omri Bojko of TVP NYC, Jonathan Gass of Nomad Financial, Randy Rayess of VenturePact, and Boris Rozman of Creative Technology Partners.
