Last Wednesday, YEC members and guests met at the JLL offices in Chicago to listen to an inspiring and educational discussion about entrepreneurship. Presented by YEC and General Assembly, four top YEC members in Chicago sat on a fireside panel and shared their incredible stories of success, failure, and starting up. They also shared their insights on the Chicago community, side hustles they're working on, and advice for those trying to break into business.
The panelists included Jayna Cooke, CEO of EVENTup; Fabio Viviani, celebrity chef and restaurateur; Emerson Spartz, founder and CEO of Dose; and Lindsay Mullen, Co-founder and CEO of Prosper Strategies.
These four came together to share their stories both individually and as a group. Many topics were touched on, including tips and tricks of how they've endured startup life, challenges they faced in their journeys as young entrepreneurs, and what they’ve done to overcome and convert their struggles into success. They also answered questions from the audience.
This event was public, so the audience included a diverse range of people in all stages of entrepreneurship - from those simply curious about startups to those in the ideation stage and those which are already established entrepreneurs.
Beer, wine and appetizers were served during the fireside chat, compliments of the sponsors . Photography for the event was provided by PrettyInstant, while the venue was kindly given by JLL.
