As we enter the fall season, let's take a look back at what our YEC members have achieved in recent months. They've announced new partnerships, locations and acquisitions -- and have even been featured on NBC Nightly News! Below, we highlight four members and their big news.
Dan Schawbel Featured on NBC Nightly News
Dan Schawbel, managing partner of Millennial Branding, LLC and the leading authority on personal branding, was recently featured on NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt on the topic of employer monitoring of employee social media.
"Employers should use all data at their disposal including social media in order to make a good hire because the cost of a bad hire is way too high to make mistakes," Schawbel reveals. Watch the clip below.
Opcity Acquired for $210M
Austin-based real estate tech startup Opcity, led by CEO Ben Rubenstein, is being acquired by a News Corp subsidiary for $210 million. Move, Inc., which operates realtor.com, will become Opcity’s owner and Opcity will continue to operate as a standalone company with Ben Rubenstein retaining his title of CEO.
Says Rubenstein: "This is a natural fit. Both realtor.com and Opcity share a common purpose of simplifying a consumer’s home buying journey, while helping real estate professionals connect and close more transactions. Together, we’ll provide an enhanced consumer experience and more choices for brokers and their agents to grow their business."

Kuli Kuli Partners With U.S. Government’s Millennium Corporation Challenge
The U.S. Government’s Millennium Corporation Challenge (MCC) recently announced a new partnership with Kuli Kuli, which includes an MCC grant to conduct a market assessment to help MCC understand the opportunities for companies obtaining moringa from Niger. Lisa Curtis is the founder and CEO of Kuli Kuli, the first company to introduce moringa, a nutrient-rich superfood to the U.S.
Says Curtis: "After serving in the Peace Corps in Niger, I learned about the health benefits of moringa and was inspired to start Kuli Kuli. Since the start of the business, I have wanted to source moringa from Niger, but found that there were too many barriers to export. It’s a dream of mine to source moringa from Niger, and the partnership with MCC is an important step in working toward that goal."
