YEC Member Company ALICE Raises $9.5 Million Series A Round

YEC member company ALICE raised $9.5M in a Series A financing round last month. Co-founded by YEC member Alexander Shashou, ALICE is a guest experience management platform that enables hotels to deliver exceptional service.

The round was led by Expedia, and includes former investors such as Laconia, 645 Ventures and Neuehouse founders. The company previously raised $3.2M across two rounds.

ALICE, or "A Life Improving Customer Experience," allows guests to communicate with their hotel via a mobile app, and simultaneously enables hotel staff to collaborate on a single platform. The company, which is based in New York City, intends to use the round to hire new team members and expand its current product offerings.

“Hotels are really good at knowing about you before you arrive, and have a really good understanding of you when you leave (reviews, etc.),” said Shashou in a statement.“When you are with them, it’s a gray area. ALICE helps fill that gray area with technology, an additional connection to your guests.”
