YEC member Douglas Baldasare, CEO of ChargeItSpot, recently announced that 1 million charges have been made from their phone charging stations. ChargeItSpot, a leader in secure phone charging stations, features secure, customizable kiosks that are compatible with all smartphones. They also have a mobile app that directs users with low battery to the nearest charging station.
“Cell phone charging stations are a rapidly growing space and we’re thrilled to have been able to save one million people from a dying phone," said Baldasare about this milestone.
Launched in 2012 out of The Wharton School incubator, ChargeItSpot kiosks can be found in 120 retail locations across 11 states. Since the charging kiosks also act as innovative mobile marketing platforms, and customers who charge their phones in-store are shown to spend more time shopping, charging stations are a fast-growing segment of the retail technology industry.
“Our mission is to provide retail customers with a free and secure phone recharge whenever they need it and to deliver an easy ROI for our retail clients,” said Jeffrey Bergeland, ChargeItSpot's Director of Client Success.
