Blood, Sweat & Cheers is an email newsletter that helps people find activities they might be interested in. Over the years, it has targeted the movement of people interested in nontraditional recreational activities like Tough Mudder, The Color Run and CrossFit. This fits in well with Greatist's mission of helping Millennials think of health in a new way, which they do by publishing sharable content about leading an active lifestyle.
Since Greatist launched in 2011 and BSC in 2012, both companies have grown enormously. Says Flanzraich, "We share a similar mission, and this acquisition reinforces us as the leading next-generation health media company for healthy-minded millennials."
