YEC member company Killer Infographics announced that it is partnering with nonprofit organization WeCount. Co-founded by YEC member Amy Baillett, Killer Infographics is the industry leader in visual communications, setting the bar for infographics, motion graphics, and interactive design.
As Seattle residents, the Killer Infographics team sees homelessness every day, and it has becoming a more pressing issue than ever as Seattle housing prices skyrocket and homelessness continues to affect so many. That's why Killer Infographics, a five-year-old Seattle design agency, has chosen to donate $40,000 in design services to WeCount, a nonprofit organization seeking to provide new solutions for the homeless.
About 70 percent of homeless people in Seattle own a smartphone, and WeCount's mission is to connect people in need with people willing to donate through their web-based service. It's designed to make donating easy while avoiding the sometimes dehumanizing hoops that the homeless often have to jump through. WeCount has adopted an Uber-like business model and is hoping to start in Seattle but spread organically, first to Silicon Valley and then hopefully nationwide.
From a marketing standpoint, Killer Infographics is seeking to provide the most innovative visual communication strategy in the market to create visual content optimized and customized across a variety of platforms. The goal is to spread the word among potential users of the web-based service, both donors and recipients.
