YEC Member Company The Muse Raises $16 Million in Series B Funding Round

YEC member Kathryn Minshew's company recently raised $16 million in a Series B round led by Icon Ventures. The Muse is an online career resource that offers original advice, the ability to search companies and apply to jobs and access to coaches for personalized career help.

Aspect Ventures, DBL Partners and QED Investors also joined the round, bringing The Muse's total funding to $28.7 million.

"So 'Coach Connect' is our first step toward building out skill and professional development," Minshew told TechCrunch of the site's newest feature. "In its first iteration, we sourced a network of expert career coaches, breaking them down into mentor, coach, and master coach based on their level of experience [and charging accordingly for access to them]. We’re also experimenting with classes and other forms of skill development and one-to-one and one-to-many advice. "

"As part of our Series B, we're investing heavily in data and personalization, to continue to give people exactly what they need, when they need it," Minshew told YEC of the raise. "We'll be hiring for product, engineering, sales, and more -- all part of our mission to build the most trusted and beloved career destination, period."
