YEC Member Company UP Global Acquired by Techstars

YEC member Marc Nager announced on June 15th that his company UP Global was acquired by Techstars. UP Global's programs Startup Weekend, Startup Week, Startup Next and Startup Digest will all continue under the Techstars umbrella.

As a premiere startup accelerator, Techstars shares UP Global's community driven approach and vision for empowering entrepreneurs through every stage of their journey. The two companies also have a history together, as Startup Weekend was created while its founders were with Techstars in Colorado in 2007.

"We share a common mission of bringing entrepreneurship to more people and more places. Our organizations have worked toward this mission in different ways, but for these past 7 years we’ve both been working to improve the global state of entrepreneurship with a ‘give first’ mentality," says the UP Global blog.

"I’m looking forward to continuing our mission, making our programs better and stronger, and ultimately creating a more entrepreneurial world," said Nager in this letter.

As part of Techstars, all UP Global programs will remain active as they are -- the goal of the acquisition being to further the mission of Techstars and UP Global alike.
