YEC member David Ciccarelli, CEO of Voices.com, is celebrating two recent successes: the company has received $2M in funding from BDC Capital, and is currently participating in the Canadian Technology Accelerator program, CTA@NYC in Manhattan, New York. Voices.com is an expanding online marketplace for voiceover talent.
Voices.com has seen incredible growth during its 10 years in business, evolving from a two-person recording studio to a sprawling network of more than a quarter million users. Having raised around $5M so far, the funds will be used to expand Voices.com’s workforce as well as attract new clients and voiceover talent from around the world.
“Over the next year and a half, these funds will, in effect, be doubling our workforce. We want to see how big we can build Voices.com and pursue this ambitious vision, which is nothing short of being the voice of the world.” said Ciccarelli.
In addition to this news, Voices.com was accepted into the Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA@NYC), a program established by the Consulate General in New York in 2012 to help Canadian digital media companies access key resources to accelerate their growth. One of five Canadian brands selected to participate, Voices.com has received space for four months at Grind, a local co-working facility, as well as with mentoring for business contacts to facilitate growth.
"This is an opportunity that will allow us to take Voices.com to the world's biggest stage, New York City. Our team in New York will be discovering new clients, forging partnerships, and establishing relationships with media organizations." Ciccarelli said in this article.
Voices.com allows users to search, review and identify the talent they want to work with and ultimately hire to record their voice-overs. It also provides the tools to narrow their searches, find the best talent and post jobs for voice talent. Clients include world-renowned media networks such as NBC, ESPN, PBS, The History Channel, The Discovery Channel and more.
The company is on track to make $15M in gross revenue over the next year, having approximately doubled its previous year’s sales. Ciccarelli also projects that Voices.com will exceed $100 million in annual revenue within the next three years.
