YEC members Shaun Johnson and Jason Henrichs, co-founder and managing director, respectively, at Startup Institute, and John Harthorne, founder and CEO at MassChallenge, have decided to join forces with a new Startup Institute x MassChallenge partnership.
Startup Institute is an 8-week education program that provides professionals the skills, mindset and networks needed to get a job — and thrive — at a startup or high-growth company. MassChallenge is the world’s largest accelerator program designed to connect high-impact startups from around the world with the resources they need to launch and succeed. Both are based in Boston.
According to a press release, the partnership will give MassChallenge entrepreneurs access to Startup Institute’s network of alumni, curriculum and speakers. And for Startup Institute students, it will provide the opportunity to build relationships with MassChallenge companies through special events and the chance to work on projects for these companies. MassChallenge entrepreneurs also have the opportunity to teach in Startup Institute classes.
This is not only a nod to the boom of Boston’s startup scene — the partnership aims to expand beyond the New England area, into global territory. Right now, Startup Institute runs programs in Boston, New York, Chicago, London and Berlin. MassChallenge has programs in Boston and Israel, and its newest launch: MassChallenge UK in London (applications for all three just opened).
