Your Weekly YEC Social Roundup

Each week, we like to post what’s been going on with some of our members in the world of social media. Our recap will cover member news and highlights, external publications and hiring needs.

Member News & Highlights

Earlier this week, YEC member Mary Ray, co-founder and COO of MyHealthTerms, closed a series B round of financing, led by Fortune 10 company, CVS Health. Congratulations to her and her team!

YEC'er Jesse Pujji recently announced that his company, Ampush, was recognized as one of the initial members of the Instagram Partner Program, a new program that distinguishes companies and their capabilities to run effective advertising campaigns, manage communities and source and deliver content on Instagram. Gravity Payments CEO Dan Price was featured on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, explaining why he gives all of his employees a $70,000-minimum salary, regardless of their positions.

Member Publications

YEC member Mollie Elkman Gerson of GroupTwo just released her free e-book, "How to Successfully Launch a New Community." In the book, Mollie explains the entire pre-sale process, offering up proven strategies, new perspectives and easy tips for generating sales.

YEC'er Darrah Brustein wrote an article in Entrepreneur titled, "5 Universal Truths About Entrepreneurship Learned From Rwandan Coffee Farmers." Darrah explains, "I was really happy to learn about entrepreneurship from this rural Rwandan community of entrepreneurs who are creating a sustainable financial future for themselves and their families through coffee farming with the help of Kula Project." She wrote this article as a reminder and lesson of some of the truths the Rwandan community has demonstrated about their entrepreneurial journeys.

Jayna Cooke recently had her article, "Not Connecting With Your Prospect? Tear Down This Wall," published on Forbes. The EventUp co-founder and CEO writes, "Salespeople build walls all the time – and usually, they don’t mean to. Bad sales tactics force prospects to hide behind metaphorical walls for the sake of their time and sanity. Once they block you out, there is little hope of developing a relationship, and without a relationship, your prospect won’t buy anything. I want to illustrate how we unintentionally build walls as sellers."
